Human2AI – Bring Generative AI applications to Secondary Schools
July 29, 2025Accredited project for mobility of learners and staff in adult education 2024 - 2025
Project Summary
With this project, ANAPTIXIAKO KENTRO THESSALIAS (AKETH) aims to strengthen the quality, innovation, and international dimension of adult education in Greece through long-term participation in the Erasmus+ programme. In a rapidly changing social and labour-market environment, where adults—especially those from vulnerable groups—face growing challenges in access to skills, employment, and lifelong learning, the project focuses on empowering adult educators and improving training practices so that learning opportunities become more inclusive, digital, and closely connected to real societal and labour-market needs.
Through structured staff mobility activities across Europe, the project supports the professional development of adult educators, trainers, and experts, enabling them to exchange knowledge, adopt innovative pedagogical approaches, and integrate digital tools into adult learning. By investing in educators’ competences, the project ensures a long-term positive impact on adult learners, including unemployed adults, NEETs, migrants, refugees, and people at risk of social exclusion. At the same time, the project strengthens AKETH’s organisational capacity, international partnerships, and contribution to the European Education Area.
Overall, the project’s objectives can be summarised as follows:
- Improve the quality and effectiveness of adult education by developing a highly skilled and well-trained pool of adult educators, capable of addressing the needs of diverse and vulnerable learner groups.
- Enrich teaching methods and learning tools through the systematic integration of digital technologies, distance learning solutions, and innovative educational practices.
- Expose adult educators to European good practices and innovative approaches in adult learning, fostering creativity, adaptability, and continuous professional development.
- Promote inclusion, equal opportunities, and social participation by ensuring that adult education responds to the needs of learners with fewer opportunities.
- Strengthen the internationalisation and sustainability of the organisation through long-term European cooperation, networking, and knowledge exchange within the Erasmus+ framework.
Activities
The Adult Education Management training was held in Izmir, Turkey, by the educational organization DATA-SOIN, from 24/06/2025 to 28/06/2025, with the aim of improving the organisation and teaching practice in adult education, with particular emphasis on modern pedagogical approaches and the use of digital/AI tools. The program included an introduction to data analysis for educational purposes, feedback collection practices (forms, micro-questionnaires), workshops on integrating digital tools into the course flow, and thematic sessions on adult financial literacy and its connection to real-life learning scenarios.
At the same time, visits were made to local adult education institutions and public lifelong learning centers, where participants observed course organization practices, approaches to vulnerable groups, and examples of flexible programs. Direct contact with trainers and executives from Turkey enhanced understanding of how people, technology, and assessment are combined in practice.
The second mobility of AKETH staff members, which took place from July 21, 2025, to July 25, 2025, in Iasi, Romania, by the educational organization ADISE, focused on STEM education in adult education and concentrated on smart learning models (Smart Learning), a functional classroom "Digital Toolbox," and exploratory learning methodologies with a practical dimension. The program combined micro-seminars, workshops, and classroom observations with the aim of enabling participants to design and test a short, interdisciplinary learning sequence for adults.
During the workshops, the teams developed short prototype lessons with a clear driving question, comprehension checkpoints (exit tickets, short quizzes), and simple digital applications for collaboration and recording learning data. Particular emphasis was placed on cultivating computational thinking through accessible, low-cost activities and on developing formative assessment criteria (rubrics) that can be reused in different cognitive subjects.
Impact
First of all, the project is expected to have a strong and lasting impact on the participating adult educators, trainers, and staff. Through international mobility activities, participants will enhance both their professional and personal competences, gaining exposure to innovative pedagogical approaches, digital learning tools, and inclusive training methods used across Europe. They will strengthen their ability to work with adults from diverse backgrounds, particularly learners with fewer opportunities such as unemployed adults, NEETs, migrants, refugees, and people at risk of social exclusion. As a result, participants will become more confident, adaptable, and effective in their daily work, acting not only as educators but also as facilitators, mentors, and multipliers of innovation within adult education.
Secondly, the project will have a significant organisational impact on ANAPTIXIAKO KENTRO THESSALIAS (AKETH). The knowledge, skills, and good practices acquired through staff mobilities will be systematically integrated into the organisation’s training programmes, methodologies, and digital infrastructure. This process will contribute to the overall quality upgrade of adult education services offered by the organisation, strengthening its capacity to respond to evolving labour-market needs and societal challenges. At the same time, AKETH will reinforce its international profile and credibility, expand its European network, and lay the foundations for new strategic partnerships and future Erasmus+ and European projects. The organisation’s staff will become a key asset for long-term development, innovation, and sustainability.
Thirdly, the indirect beneficiaries of the project—adult learners and vulnerable groups—will experience tangible benefits. Improved training quality, more engaging learning environments, and better-adapted educational tools will lead to increased participation, motivation, and learning outcomes for adults in need. Educators who have participated in the project will be better equipped to support learners in developing key competences, strengthening employability, and navigating social and professional challenges. Through dissemination activities and the transfer of results, the project aims to contribute to a broader positive impact on the local and regional community, supporting social inclusion, lifelong learning, and equal access to education.
