Institute of Education and Innovation – INEKA (formerly AKETH) is a non-profit organization based in Trikala, Greece, with a branch in Athens. Since 2004, INEKA has been delivering high-quality Vocational Education and Training (VET) services, accredited by the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP). The organization supports over 1,200 beneficiaries annually and has participated in more than 120 European projects.
Each year, INEKA hosts over 200 international participants, promoting transnational mobility, knowledge exchange, and capacity building through European cooperation and educational activities.
INEKA’s European Programmes Department leads its internationalisation strategy, managing EU-funded projects and building strong partnerships across 25+ countries. In synergy with I²Lab (INEKA Innovation Lab), it transforms project outcomes into practical solutions, including digital tools, educational platforms, and technology-driven innovations.
Recognized for its excellence, INEKA has been awarded by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) for its contribution to European Vocational Education and Training (VET) projects and the implementation of good practices at European level.
Virtual Tour
The privately owned facilities of AKETH are 600 square meters, located near the city center and are accessible and functional for people with disabilities. There are four classrooms along with a specially designed computer lab, a library, a meeting room and office space for the needs of the AKETH departments.

Through I²Lab (INEKA Innovation Lab), INEKA transforms ideas, research outcomes, and European project results into practical solutions with real-world impact. The lab operates at the intersection of education, technology, and innovation, designing digital tools, educational platforms, mobile applications, serious games, immersive learning experiences, and AI-driven solutions.
I²Lab EduTech
I²Lab EduTech promotes educational innovation, STEAM education, educational robotics, skills development, teacher training, and modern learning methodologies. It supports hands-on, interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect creativity, technology, and real-world problem solving.
I²Lab Digital Innovation & AI
I²Lab Digital Innovation & AI develops digital platforms, mobile applications, serious games, artificial intelligence solutions, and technology-enabled products for education, culture, tourism, public services, and community engagement.
VR & AR in Education
I²Lab also develops Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) applications for education and training. These immersive tools simulate real-life scenarios and support experiential learning in fields such as energy and environmental protection, tourism, cultural heritage, and soft skills development.
