Developmental Center of Thessaly in cooperation with the school from Turkey "Ali Tunaboylu Vocational and Technical High School" participates in the European project entitled "Önce Çalış Sonra Yarış" and program code "2018-1-TR01-KA102-053373" approved in the framework of ERASMUS + and in particular, action KA1 - learning mobility of individuals.
The program includes 7 students and 2 associate teachers of technical vocational high school from Turkey. Students are assigned to local businesses that are active in the catering industry (Tsikali, Ladofanaro, Palia Istoria) and their practical training is fifteen days.
At the end of their work placement, students will participate in the 11th International Southern Cultivation Contest, to be held at the 28th International Food, Beverage, Machinery, Equipment and Packaging Exhibition, Detrop, from 1 to 4 March, at the Pavilion 16 of the premises of the Thessaloniki International Fair (HELEXPO). The Southern European Cooking Competition is organized every two years by the Chefs Club of Northern Greece in collaboration with HELEXPO-TET and the support of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS). The 2017 event brought together more than 450 entries of distinguished Chefs and Culinary Schools, which competed in 34 categories and were evaluated by 23 international judges, whose participation gave the competition the prestige of an international competition, setting high standards for unique gastronomic creations. Also, Thomas A. Gugler, President of the World Association of Chefs Societies, attended the 10th International Competition.
The main purpose of the project is to improve pupils' knowledge, broader understanding of practices, policies and systems in youth work in other countries, increase their ability to bring changes in the modernization and outward-looking nature of the labor market, broader social understanding and responsiveness, linguistic and cultural diversity as well as increased support and promotion of mobility activities for learners.
